Correspondence with Clive Allison of Allison and Busby Limited Publishers concerning outstanding accounts for THE WORST WITCH and THE WORST WITCH STRIKES AGAIN. Further correspondence with accountants Adamson and Mills concerning the receivership of Allison and Busby which was announced in The Bookseller on 1/5/87 (copy included).
Also included is a copy of a certificate of insolvency, 29/5/87.

Correspondence with W.H. Allen who purchase the business on 29/5/87 and negotiate a transfer of contracts. An agreement is sought with regards to JM’s unpaid royalties.

Correspondence from AP Watt’s solicitor, Michael Rubinstein, and W.H. Allen’s solicitor, Bernard Sheridan & Co.. Rubinstein writes that he hopes to “digest” Sheridan’s letter by 3.30pm “even if it gives me indigestion”, 8/6/87.

Copy agreements of rights re-assignment between W.H. Allen and JM. This is for the rights in THE WORST WITCH, 29/5/87.

Confirmation letters with various publishers of the reassignment of rights in JM’s books. All rights reverted to JM after Allison and Busby Limited went into receivership; this included rights granted by them to third parties (Oct 1987).
