Administrative/Biographical history
W.G. Sebald (1944-2001) was a German writer and academic who was appointed to a chair of German literature at the University of East Anglia in 1987, and in 1989 became the founding director of the British Centre for Literary Translation (BCLT).

His novels in German include: Vertigo (1990), The Emigrants (1992), The Rings of Saturn (1995) and Austerlitz (2001) [VERA].

The English translations follow a different order: The Emigrants (1996), The Rings of Saturn (1998), Vertigo (1999), and Austerlitz (2001) [ERVA].
Scope and content
A collection of audio-visual recordings brought together by UEA Archives in 2011. They are mostly productions of the University as well as some unpublished interviews which took place in Norwich.
