Scope and content
Contains five files which relate to the study of the total effects of air raids. People's experiences of the raids are examined and this includes physical, emotional and sociological aspects, and demographic disruptions. Special studies were made of housing damage, shelters, the homeless, casualty services, damage and disruption to hundreds of factories and mills, services and transport disruptions, and damage to docks. The studies concentrate on Birmingham and Hull. Altogether 8,000 questionnaires were collected and analysed.
