Contains 40 items including multiple drafts of SZ’s propositions dealing with "the basic issues covering nuclear and conventional warfare and the use of tactical nuclear weapons." The file also contains comments on the propositions by civil servants and Service chiefs including Sir Edward Ashmore (Director of Plans at the Admiralty and MoD), Claud Wright, Robert Press, and Sir Robert Scott. The propositions were also sent to Lord Mountbatten whose comments are not included although a letter from SZ thanking him for his comments is present.
