Scope and content
Crowley is the film version of the book I, Crowley, also referred to as:
• 666 The Number of the Beast
• 666 The Beast, and
• The Beast
The film is based on the life of the magician and ‘cult figure’ Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). Simon Callow was to direct the film.
There is some overlap between Crowley (SW/4) and The Beast (SW/4).
For SW’s fictional autobiography I, Crowley: Almost the Beast’s Last Will and Testament 666 or I, Crowley: Almost the
Last Confession of the Beast 666, see SW/2/2.
[Crowley – correspondence and miscellaneous papers], 1989, 1998-2009
An extensive body of correspondence between SW and Matthew Thomas Nussbaum (Thomas Associates in the United States) as MTN tries to seek financial backing for the screenplay of Crowley (2000-2001).
Correspondence with production companies (including Parkwood Films, 1998) and actors (including Simon Callow, 1998).
Research material, synopses (2000), scenes shooting schedule (1998), scene drawings.
