Contains correspondence with Rebecca Carter of Chatto and Windus concerning the illustrations, acknowledgements, prelim pages and index. Includes notes on late revisions; RD’s outline redraft for a press release; and a list of possible titles for the book.
Also included is RD’s proposal and a proposal from Third Eye Productions Ltd to Channel 4 Television for a series 'Swimming Through Britain (working title): A Swimmer’s Journey'. In the series it is proposed that RD be given “a different, mad, keen, but surprising swimmer companion” [eg. Oliver Sacks]. With the proposal he includes copies of his article 'The Pool of Life'. The Guardian, 7/7/97.
