Scope and content
Breuer thanks Jack Pritchard for the gift of fois gras "which brings...a lot of continental atmosphere", and gives his impressions of America - "the people are mixed, up and down, very colourful or very gray, adventurers and bourgeois. The country is endless...". He and Gropius have completed two houses, with four in progress, including "a large one in Pittsburg (about $110,000)". They are also working on the Pennsylvania state Pavilion for the World Fair in New York, "Then competitions, teaching - and Isokon." Breuer is building a house for himself "fortunately with other people's money in the country... a kind of cave with central heating." He sends his regards to the Pritchard family, and to Harry Mansell.
